The Midnight Clause

A cookie on a plate in a dim kitchen at midnight

There is a clause in everyone's contract with themselves, unwritten but binding, that says: if it is past midnight and you want a cookie, you may have a cookie.

We built for that clause.

Lemon white chocolate for the ones who want bright. Double espresso for the ones still working. Double chocolate chip for the purists. Nutella sea salt for the arguments. Crisp at the edge, soft in the middle, couverture chocolate in pools and shards — the kind of cookie that makes standing in the kitchen at 12:40am feel less like a lapse and more like a decision.

Sealed fresh, lovely for fifteen days, so the clause is always available to exercise.

Carry on. Have the cookie.
